  • Lots of pre-install apps

Expert point of view

Vivo T3 5G is a worthy candidate under this price tag of Rs 20,000, offering one of the fastest chipsets in the segment. With classy looks, a bright display, and enhanced battery life over the predecessor, the Vivo T3 5G stands tall with overall performance. But some cons may bother a few: lots of pre-installed apps, and very low assurance of just two major software updates.

Design and Display

Vivo T3 5G

Vivo has eliminated the colour-changing rear cover seen on the Vivo T2 for more plain colour options on the Vivo T3. But says the design is hardly boring: The Vivo T3 boasted two eye-catching colours, Cosmic Blue and Crystal Flake. Each colour has an interesting design on its rear panel. The Crystal Flake version shows an uneven, crystal-like pattern, just as the name describes. The phone is set in static colours, and yet, it still appears flamboyant.

The phone has a flat-edged frame with chamfered designs this year. Quite heavy in hand with some feeling of heft, and weighing at 188 grams, it is heavier than its predecessor, which weighed 172 grams.

Vivo T3 5G Mobile 120Hz AMOLED Display

Of course, the screen is a 6.67-inch AMOLED display on board, with Full HD+ + resolution (2,400 x 1,080) and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The peak brightness on this phone is 1800 nits, exactly like the iQOO Z9 5G, and that's really good for its price tag. The display is bright enough to remain visible in direct sunlight and has perfect viewing angles. Also, content like Netflix behaves sharply and clearly while streaming.

Camera

Vivo T3 5G CAMERA

The Vivo T3 may seem like it has a triple rear camera, but in actuality, this phone carries a dual camera setup. One features a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor with OIS, while the other is a 2MP portrait lens. The third is a flicker sensor that aims to reduce light flickering when recording videos. The primary camera takes sharply detailed and vividly colored pictures in bright daylight.

Vivo T3 5G FRONT CAMERA

The primary camera offers super performance in low-light conditions, only so long as there is good ambient lighting. The 16MP front camera captures decent selfies during daylight, with sharp image quality and accurately exposed, naturally colored images. Both cameras produced very pleasing results in near-perfect lighting conditions, as shown in the sample shots.

Super Night Portrait

Vivo T3 5G camera Portrait

Vivo's advanced night algorithms and 2x portrait focal length work together to capture stunning low-light portraits. Even in dim lighting, your natural beauty shines through with professional-level clarity. The enhanced depth and lighting ensure your features stand out gracefully. Every shot feels refined, vibrant, and true to life. Perfect portraits, day or night.

Performance and Software

Vivo T3 5G mobile

The Vivo T3 5G's MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor allows solid overall performance with the ability to multitask efficiently, as well as run most games effortlessly. It comes with up to 8GB of RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, which enables fast app launches and speedy access to data. Thus, the smartphone handles daily tasks as well as some low to mid-end gaming without much fuss. The performance is well sustained for a long period, mainly thanks to its efficient thermal management.

It comes with Funtouch OS 14, built on top of Android 14, which improves the user experience with its smoothness and customizability. The Vivo T3 5G will offer multitasking up to 12 small windows and new split-screen modes, which will allow three apps to be run at the same time. The phone also includes additional features such as Always On Display (AOD) Styles, Lights in the Environment for Notifications, and privacy tools such as Hidden Photos. Vivo ensures its users with two years of Android OS updates and three years of security patches for the device.

Gaming Performance

Vivo T3 5G Mobile MediaTek Dimensity Processor

The Vivo T3 5G glides through common tasks like browsing social media, checking emails, and multitasking between apps without an issue. We also found the iQOO Z9 5G gaming partner, the Dimensity 1200, to be one of our most reliable mobile bomber screens at high settings in Call of Duty Mobile (Very High) with consistently smooth gameplay when that slider sits just short of max volume.

Even as a power hog with the Dimensity 7200 chipset, the major chunk of a bar comes down by just 6 percent over half an hour.

Battery & Charging

Vivo T3 5G Battery

The Vivo T3 5G is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, offering solid endurance for daily use. In a PCMark battery test, it lasted 15 hours and 16 minutes, and a 30-minute YouTube session consumed only about 4% of the battery. With moderate usage, it comfortably lasts through the day, though heavy users may need to recharge by evening. The device supports 44W fast charging, taking approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes to charge from 20% to 100%. Overall, the Vivo T3 5G provides reliable battery performance suitable for most users.

Expert Rating: 7.5/10

Reasons to buy

  • Everyday tasks and light gaming are handled very smoothly by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset.
  • The crystal back adds an appealing touch, making it stylish for a phone in its category.
  • The Vivo T3 5G has much better battery life than its predecessor, with dependable 44W fast charging.

Conclusion

The Vivo T3 5G is a safe phone to get under the Rs. 20,000 price in India. It does well at many things with a pretty design, AMOLED display, and better battery life than the original. However, the SoC is one of the quickest you are going to find in this segment, and that should be two reasons why you will have second thoughts before checking out other middleweights for yourself, along with a 50MP sensor that manages great photos during the day.

But Vivo is limiting itself to two major software upgrades, which is fewer. On top of that comes Funtouch OS - complete with a hefty amount of bloatware you won't ever want to have. Although the battery and charging on the Vivo T3 are average at best, the Tecno POVA 6 Pro (review) offers clear improvements in both these departments. The Vivo T3 5G is a decently powerful phone right now at under Rs. 20,000 if these aspects do not trouble you much.
